This home is more welcoming and homey than any picture can convey. My family and I stayed there over the weekend, as a surprise for my daughter's 10th birthday, and we loved and enjoyed every minute of it. She specifically fell in love with the Bear's Den hot tub. I personally enjoy all of the thought and preparation that went into providing small items most mountain vacationers forget, such as Smore skewers or sugar for their coffee. I also adored their idea to provide interesting nearby tourist attractions and also information as to accessing the Blue Ridge Parkway and it's sightseeing spots. My family thoroughly enjoyed every minute of their stay and we hated to leave, therefore we will certainly be repeat visitors for years to come.

This was our third stay at the Bear Den. Each time is better as each time we spend more time in the house or should I say on the deck. Our entertainment are the hummingbirds , they flew so close to us. The house was nice and clean and the addition of the Keurig was a nice touch. Will be back next year.

We just returned from our stay at the Bear Den and had a great time. The house was exactly what we needed to feel comfortable, relaxed and made us want to stay a lot longer than we had booked. The pictures don't do this cozy house enough justice! It has a great view off the back deck- we enjoyed sitting on the swing watching the clouds roll off the top of the mountains. We also loved the frequent hummingbirds that visited all day long. There are a lot of fun things to do in the area as well. Definitely check out Waynesville. I loved the shopping and my husband enjoyed the local breweries and sampling some tasty local brews! Cataloochee Valley was a great trip- we saw Elk up close and even had a picnic next to the river. Local waterfalls we checked out were Mingo Falls and Soco Falls- both were well worth the short climbs! And for a full day of walking, shopping and great dining we checked out Asheville. Highly recommend Asheville Brewery Company for some delicious pizza and a very unique outdoor porch area! We had a great time and are counting down the days to come back! Thanks Don- everything was perfect!

As soon as we saw the bunny in the driveway on our way in, we knew we were in for a treat. The Bear Den is a beautiful home not far from Soco Falls, Asheville, and the Smoky Mountains National Park. The Bear Den is clean and updated with bear touches everywhere. We loved sitting in the porch swing looking at the beautiful mountain views. The hot tub was clean and relaxing. The owner was very helpful with questions that I had about grocery stores, attractions and directions. We plan on coming back next year and will definitely stay here.

This is one of the best homes we've ever rented! The view from the porch is great & there's plenty of room & comfortable seating out there. The bedroom/bathroom set up was very comfortable and spacious. The home is in mint condition & the parking area was large. Home is very accessible to the Cataloochee Ski Area & Maggie Valley. We will visit this one again!!!

My wife and I were looking for a perfect location, along with a beautiful cabin for our annual fall vacation. For the past few years we have been spending our vacation in Blue Ridge, Ga, but not anymore. Maggie Valley is a neutral location so that it provides easy access to many attractions. Bear Den is a beautiful and cozy cabin that provides a scenic view of the mountains. I highly recommend eating at Sweet Onion in Waynesville and Joey's Pancake House in Maggie Valley.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The owner was so helpful and accommodating, as we booked this cabin last minute, after our original cabin reservation turned out to be a nightmare of a cabin. Thank goodness this cabin was available!! Beautiful views, perfect location, clean, and cozy. Thanks for turning what would have been a horrible vacation into a pleasant one!!! We will definitely stay at this cabin again.

Our second stay was just as great as the first. This time we had no planned excursions, so a lot of time was spent on the deck enjoying the scenery. We tried a couple of new places to eat but our best meals were cooked outside on the grill. We hope to return again next year.

We spent most of our time in the porch swing!! The view is great and watching the huming birds was very entertaining. We saw one dear early one morning and a lot of rabbits. No disappointments here. We would recommend to anyone that enjoys getting away from it all. Will be back next year.

We were looking for a place to escape the Florida heat. The cool mornings and evenings on the porch overlooking the beautiful mountain views didn't dissapoint us.What views without having to travel up long winding roads to reach the Bear Den.The cabin was clean comfortable and well appointed. It's location was close to great hiking and beautiful waterfalls. It was only a couple of minutes to the the historic town of Waynesville with great shopping and wonderful restaurants. Don, the owner, from the time we inquired about the property to booking our reservations, was always quick to respond back to us. We would definately recommend the Bear Den to our friends and know they will enjoy it as much as we did.
